Laverne "Country" Arline, age 87 passed away on April 17, 2013, at his resident terminating an extended illness. He was a resident of Olustee for many years. He was born to the late Samuel and Luella Arline in Okeechobee, Florida on June 27, 1925. Mr Arline was a devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was very active in the community and will be missed by the entire Olustee family.
Laverne was educated in the public schools of Baker County. In 1947 he was united in matrimony to his beautiful and loving sweetheart, Dorothy M. Arline. He retired from the United States Government Division of Forestry after 36 years as an Entomologist. He was a volunteer fire fighter for the Baker County Fire Department.
Laverne was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Luella Arline, son Derek Arline, Brother Cleophas Arline and granddaughter Dedriya Arline.
He leaves to cherish his memories and continue his legacy his loving and devoted wife of 65 years Dorothy Arline of Olustee, Florida; Daughter Marvis Troy Ann Scriven of Olustee, Florida; Son: Gregory J. Arline, Sr of Olustee, Florida; Sister: Clemmytee Daniels of Oulustee, Florida; Brother-in-law: Roosevelt (Theresa) Cason of Chicago, Illinois; Sister-in-law: Helen Telefair of Jacksonville, Florida; Grand daughters: Taffini (Deundrick) Reed of Wesley Chapel, Florida; Kaila (Mark) Givens of Olustee, Florida; Johnetta Scriven of Macclenny, Florida and Candyce Arline of Jacksonville, Florida; Grandson Gregory Arline, Jr. of Olustee, Florida; Great Granddaughters: Carlyssa Ford, Kasyn Givens, Amahni Ford and Lundyn Strachan; Great Grandsons: Darik Arline, Jamarian Baker and Camron Givens; Special nephew: Henry (Sylvia) Session of Jacksonville, Florida; The Truesdell Family of Ft. Pierce, Florida; Special Friends: Arthur Robinson, Freddie Broomfield, Freeman Dowling and Leonard Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Olustee, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 26, 2013 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Olustee, Florida.
