Mrs. Lisa Ann Gray Newman, 53, of Inverness, Florida, passed away unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, January 8, 2019 at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. A native and longtime resident of Columbia County, Florida. Lisa was the daughter of the late Donald Franklin Gray and Emma Lou Rivers Miller. A 1983 Graduate of Columbia High School, she went on to earn her paramedics license from Lake City Community College followed by her L.P.N. nursing license from Suwannee Vo-Tech. She worked in the local hospitals and corrections facilities prior to her ill health forcing her to retire from her position at the Malcom Randall V.A. Medical Center in Gainesville. Lisa met and married Danny Newman and together the relocated to Inverness five years ago. Lisa was a true lover of the outdoors. She hunted, fished, rode motorcycles and boating. She was a magnificent cook. Being a "Mimi" to her "grandbabies" was her ultimate accomplishment and she spent lots of time spoiling them. Lisa was a Christian. Lisa was preceded in death by her sisters, Donna Lou Gray, Scarlett Elaine Gray and Mildred Wooten.
She is survived by her husband of 5 years, Danny Newman; her children, Jimmie (April) Willis, Thomas Stinson and Christopher Carter, and her mother Mrs. Emma Lou Miller all of Lake City. Numerous "Grandbabies", "Great Grandbabies", Nieces, Nephews, Aunts, Uncles and close family friends also survive.
Memorial services for Mrs. Newman will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, January 11, 2019 in the chapel of Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Bro. Earl Green officiating. Private family interment services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of the DEES-PARRRISH FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 458 S.
