Mrs. Mildred Louise Hall Commander, 92, of Lake City, passed away early Friday morning, January 11, 2019 in the N. Fla. Regional Lake City Medical Center. A native of Evergreen, Alabama, Mrs. Commander was the daughter of the late W.J. "Bud" and Beulah Wilson Johnson. She had been a resident of Columbia County since 1947 having moved here with her family from Evergreen, Alabama, where she was born and raised. Mrs. Commander was a homemaker and an extremely talented seamstress. She very much enjoyed singing and playing her guitar, fishing and cooking for her much beloved family. Mrs. Commander was the oldest living member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Ernest "Pat" Hall and Lester Commander; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Ann Hall; grandson, Ricky Hall; grand-daughter, Windy Hall Tang; great-grandson, Jayce Collins and her three brothers, John, Erbie and Billy Johnson.
Mrs. Commander is survived by her children: Linda Baugh (Jerry); Julian Hall, Calvin Hall and Danny (Beverly) Hall all of Lake City; two step-sons, Bobby Commander of Raleigh, NC and Michael Commander of Pensacola, FL.. Six grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, five step-great-grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Commander will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 14, 2019 in the Oak Grove Baptist Church (located on 441 N. 12 miles N. of Lake City), with Pastor Lewis Daniel and Bro. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will immediately follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home from 3-5:00P.M., TODAY, Sunday, January 13, 2019. Timmy Hall, Steve Hall, Randy Hall, Kevin Hall, Keaton Hall, Blade Crawford and Bruce Register will serve as pallbearers.
