Reverend Robert K. Davis, 70, of Lake City died Monday, August 18, 2014 at Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) following a lengthy illness. A native of Hattiesburg, MS, Robert was the son of the late Robert Davis, Sr. and Mary Alice Cauble Davis and had lived in Lake City since 1977. Robert had served several Churches including First Baptist Church in Elba, AL, North Central Baptist Church in Gainesville, FL, First Baptist Church in Lake City for twenty-three years, where he is now Pastor Emeritus, and retired after eleven years as Pastor of Woodstock Baptist Church in Jacksonville. Robert retired as a Major with The Florida National Guard after 20 years of service. He loved the Florida Gators, Atlanta Braves, and especially his family. Robert enjoyed reading and had his own library of over 8,000 books. Robert was preceded in death by his son Deputy Jeff Davis in 2002.

Robert is survived by his wife of forty-five years, Pat Davis of Lake City; son, John Robert Davis (Melissa) of Lake City; daughter Nan Davis Lavender (Michael) of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Branden Robert Davis and Alyson Davis of Lake City, and Lauren Lavender and Jay Lavender of Hattiesburg, MS; father in law, Robert F. Hancock of Lake City.
Funeral services for Reverend Robert K. Davis will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 21, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Lake City with Reverend Robert Bass, Dr. Ralph Rodriguez, and Reverend Bill Caverly officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Lake City. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30-8:30 Wednesday evening at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
