Mr. Thomas "T.J." Junia Layfield, Jr. 83, died Monday January 14, 2013 at his residence unexpectedly. He was the son of the late Thomas Junia and Christine Shoemaker Layfield, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years Betty Rosemary Moreland Layfield.

He was an active member of the Ft. White Church of God, he was very active in the Gideons and he enjoyed gardening, his cows and his farming.
He is survived by his wife of ten years Mary E. "Gene" Layfield, Ft. White, FL; two sons Thomas Dean Layfield (Judy) High Springs, FL; David Turner
(Melody) GlynnWood Springs, CO; four daughters Rosemary Shannon (Michael) Union, KY; Sharon Pace (Steven) Lake City, FL; Marta Cherry (Dale) Pembroke, KY; Nancy Cupps, Lexington, KY; one sister Virgie Hall, Brooksville,FL; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and three nieces also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Layfield will be conducted on Friday January 18, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home, with Reverend Fred McCray and Reverend Doyle Williams officiating.
Interment will follow in the Ft. White Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 P.M. on Thursday January 17, 2013 at the Dees –Parrish Family Funeral Home.
