Mrs. Marilyn Elaine Sanders, 61, daughter of Charlie and Mary Alice Kimble was born October 17, 1952 in Lake City, FL. She went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2014. Marilyn attended public school in Port St. Joe, Florida graduating in 1970 from Washington High School. She met Robert Sanders, Sr. and was united in Holy Matrimony on October 3, 1979 (34 years). Marilyn supervised the photo lab at Eckerd/CVS pharmacy. She was an active member of the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Lake City, FL, Inc. until her health failed. She served in the choir ministry and led the following songs: "Too Close to the Mirror" and "I Gave Jesus All of My Problems". Many in the community have benefited from the fruits of her labor, her beautiful smile and words of wisdom. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Frances Mable Bowles Mayo and John R. Mayo.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Robert Sanders, Sr., parents, Charlie Fred and Mary Alice Kimble; sons, Thomas Coston (Jennifer), Robert Sanders, Jr., Rashad Sanders (LaShoun), all of Lake City, FL, Freddie Sanders (Calhoun), Fort White, FL; daughter, Paulette Sanders, Opp, Alabama; sister, Carolyn Jerry (Johnny), Lake City, FL; brother, Gabriel Kimble (Keisha), Lake City, FL; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Sanders, Crestview, FL, Betty Sanders, Natalie Williams (Amos), both of Laurel Hill, FL; loving sister-in-law, Rose Bell (Solomon), Lake City, FL; brothers-in-law, Bobby Sanders, George Sanders, Michael Sanders, all of Laurel Hill, FL, Tommy Sanders, Crestview, FL; uncle, Willie C. Lee (Trudy), Yelm, WA,; aunts, Ruby Brown (Hayward), Lake City, FL, Vivian Rogers, Miami, FL; Marilyn was blessed with 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; hosts of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; devoted friends, Teresa McNeil, David Prince, Lake City, FL, Maxine Sloan, Orlando, FL; godbrothers and sisters, Pastor Alvin J. and Carolyn Baker, Minister Narvell and Betty Kelly. Funeral Services for Marilyn E. Sanders will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 1, 2014 at New Bethel Baptist Church of Lake City, FL, Inc. 550 NE Martin Luther King Street, Lake City, FL, Pastor Alvin J. Baker.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2014 at New Bethel MB Church.
