Mr. Richard Hugh "Dick" Nolan, 85, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Saturday June 14, 2014 at the Lake City VA Hospital after an extended illness. He was born on April 25, 1929 in Okeechobee, Florida to the late Christie Nolan and Vivian Malone Nolan. He lived in Lake City for the past 35 years having moved here from Miami; he worked for Florida Power and Light Company where he was a lineman. He was of the Methodist faith. He was an avid reader; and loved to do crossword puzzles from the Jacksonville, Gainesville and Lake City Reporter; he also loved to fish and hunt. He is preceded in death by his sister: Doris Westner.
  He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years: Dorothy Nolan of Lake City; sons: Richard H. Nolan, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Ronald Nolan (Dorcas) of Lake City; daughters: Sharron Crook (Richard) of Jackson, MS and Kathy Corrigan (David) of Ft. Lauderdale; sister: Kathleen Pott of Lake Placid, FL; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
  Funeral services for Mr. Nolan will be conducted on Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 3 P.M. in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Ogburn officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Tuesday evening June 17, 2014 at the funeral home.
