Ms. Mary Ellen Williams Mills, 93, of Lake City passed away peacefully on Saturday evening June 21, 2014 at her residence after an extended illness surrounded by her family. She was born on January 26, 1921 in Metz, Indiana to the late Weir A. and Lois Goudy Williams. She has lived in Florida for the past 57 years, spending 10 years in Lakeland and the last 47 years in Lake City. She was a member of Lake City Chapter Eastern Star and Amaranth. She was of the Methodist faith and was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a hand quilter and loved to oil paint; she painted many pictures and even framed her own work. She also was a seamstress and hand made some of her husband's business suits. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years: Harold Edgar Mills; two sons: Walter Allen Mills and Scott Andrew Mills; daughter: Diana Lynn Meads; grandson: Craig Trentham; three brothers and three sisters also precede her.

She is survived by her two daughters: Beverly Mills Tindle (Paul F.) of Plant City and Pam Green (Danny) of Lake City; brother: Thomas G. Williams of Metz, Indiana; sister: Esther M. Blansit of Fremont, Indiana. Seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Ms. Mills will be conducted on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 11 A.M. in the chapel of the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home with Pastor Louie Mabry officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends from 10-11 A.M. (one hour prior to the services) in the chapel.
