Mother Cora Lawton was born January 11, 1911 in Empress, Georgia. This blessed Centenarian went to be with the Lord on August 9, 2014 at Shands Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, Florida. Parents James Edwards and Georgia Denson precede her in death. She resided in Lakeland, Florida for many years where she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In 2011 she moved from Jacksonville, Florida to Lake City. Mother Lawton's church membership included St. Matthew Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Rev. Price, Pastor and Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Lake City, FL, Dwight Pollock, Pastor. She enjoyed traveling and singing and trusting in the word of the Lord. Several other family members have preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mother Cora Lawton will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at New Day Spring Missionary Baptist Church. 709 NW Long St. Lake City, FL. Lantz G. Mills, Pastor, Rev. Dwight Pollock, Officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2014 at New Day Spring MBChurch.
