Mrs. Bernice Anthony was born June 25, 1930 in Branford, Florida.  Parents Johnny Jackson and Reather Dunmore Purdy precede her in death. "Granny" as she was affectionately called, went home August 11, 2014 at North Florida Regional Medical Center, Gainesville, Florida.  She attended school in Branford, Florida. Having confessed Christ at an early age, she became a member of New Grove Baptist Church in Branford.  She was married to Amos Anthony of Lake City, FL.  Mr. Anthony, sister, Voncille Lee (Johnny) and brothers, Albert Jackson, J.C. Jackson also precede her in death.
Left to cherish memories, loving and devoted son, Joseph "Bill" Kellum (Amaya); stepmother, Johnny Mae Jackson; siblings, Johnny Jackson, Jr., Cherrie Boykin, Jerry Jackson, Jerome Jackson and Cheryl Jackson; sisters-in-law, Julia Jackson, Estelle Jackson; grandchildren, Jamie Ross (Jermaine), Tonya Kellum, Rodney Kellum, Alvin Clark, Saporia Church, Elicia "Shari" Odom (Kendrick) Trevis Bell; fifteen great-grandchildren including 1st great-grandchild, Terri Robinson; seventeen great great-grandchildren; hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bernice Anthony will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church, Branford, FL. Bishop C. Kenneth Troupe, Officiating.
Family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, August 22, 2014 at the funeral home.
