Mrs. Beverly Chapman Ammons, 80, of Lake City, passed away Saturday evening, Sunday morning August 24, 2014 at the North Florida Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. She was born on December 2, 1933 in Erie, PA, to the late James B. and Ruth Filliger Chapman. She has lived most of her life in Lake City, and was a homemaker. She loved to spend time with her family; and was also loved to play card and to go fishing. She is preceded in death by her loving husband: James B. Ammons and her daughter: Janice B. Ammons. Five siblings also precede her in death.

She is survived by her children: Glenda Ammons King (Glenwood), James B. Ammons, Jr., Marion Ammons Stallings (Norm), Mark Dale Ammons (Lora), Tammie Elaine Ammons and Barry Ammons (Teresa); daughter-in-law: Mary Ammons; brothers: Clayton Chapman, Oliver Chapman and Melvin Chapman; sister: Carol Dorminey. Twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ammons will be conducted on Wednesday August 27, 2014 at 10 A.M. in Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Dustin Busscher officiating. Interment will follow.
