Doris Ann Burdick Thomas, 84, beloved Wife and Mother passed away at her home in Lake City, FL on Oct. 3rd, 2012. Doris was born on April 13th 1928 in Rixford, a small community north of Live Oak, in Suwanee County, FL. She was a graduate of Leon High School, Tallahassee and attended Florida State University and the University of Florida.

Doris was an Employee of the State of Florida for 32 years in both the State Insurance
Commissioners office and the State Employment and Unemployment offices in St. Petersburg and Clearwater, FL. Doris was one of the founding members of the Vagabond Square Dance Club Live Oak, FL (18 years) and attended the Lake City Christian Church in Lake City, FL. Doris was preceded in passing by her Mother Ann Burdick, father Max Burdick and beloved brothers Winston and Charles Burdick.
Doris is survived by her husband of 44 years Stanley C. Thomas Sr., a son Stan Thomas Jr.
(Christy) of St. Augustine, FL; a daughter Tammy Thomas Friedlander (Philip) of Clearwater, FL; her grandchildren Matthew Thomas and Jaclyn Anne Piant. She is also survived by nephews Bill Burdick (Candy) and Bob Burdick (Patti) and their joyous gift of many great nieces and nephews. She doted on her loving dog Holly.
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 13th, 2012 in the Lake City Christian Church located at 2400 SW State Road 247 Lake City, FL with Pastor Jake Richardson officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5300 County Road 136A, Live Oak, FL 32060.
