Mrs. Virgie Croft Brinson, 83, of Lake City passed away Saturday, January 19, 2013 following an extended illness. Mrs. Brinson was born in Baker County, but had lived in Columbia County since 1964 after moving here from Union County. Mrs. Brinson worked for 25 plus years for Aero (Timco) as a records clerk before retiring and in her spare time was an avid reader, but she will always be remembered as a fantastic mother. Mrs. Brinson was of the Baptist faith, and was preceded in death by her husband John L. Brinson, her father Johnnie Croft, Sr., her mother Virgie Blitch Croft, her mom Pearl Mikell Croft, and a sister Anna Lou Baker.

Mrs. Brinson is survived by her sons John David Brinson of West Palm Beach, Florida, Michael S. Brinson of Dawsonville, Georgia, a daughter Joan B. Allen of Lake City, and a brother Johnnie Croft, Jr. of Olustee. Six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and other family members, also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brinson will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 in the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Evangelist James A. Croft officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery in Lake City. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6:00- 8:00 PM.
