Mrs. Carolyn Lucille Whitehead, 73, went home to be with the Lord on Monday evening at the North Florida Medical Center in Gainesville, FL; following an extended illness. She was the daughter of the late Wilbur Arthur and Ida Lee Murray. She had made Lake City her home since 1983 after moving here from Waverly, TN. She was a member of the Lake City Baptist Temple and of the Baptist Faith. She was an excellent wife, and mother and grandmother and great grandmother and enjoyed cooking and singing.

She is survived by her husband of thirteen years Gary Whitehead Lake City, FL; six sons Gene Thomas Summerfield, FL; Kenneth Thomas (Carol) Waynesville, NC; James Lawser (Teressia) Cario, GA; Warren Lawser, Merrillville, IND; Gregory Lawser (Leeann) Hurricane Mills, TN; and Philip Lawser(Amy) Fernandina Beach, FL; one daughter Bonnie Thompson (Rick) Clyde, NC. One sister Evelyn Butler (Aaron) Tallahassee, FL; twenty one grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. Whitehead will be held Friday June 21, 2013 at 3:00P.M in the Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Richard Heston officiating. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00P.M. on Friday. Interment will take place at the Lawser Family Cemetery in Waverly TN; on Monday June 24, 2013.
