METROPOLIS – Meril Mitchell Jr., 40, formerly of the Round Lake area, passed away suddenly April 28 at his home in Metropolis.
He was born Oct. 3, 1970, in Waukegan.
He lived a challenging life and left us way to soon. He loved his family, friends and dogs. He will be deeply missed by those he touched in many ways.
He was the beloved son of Linda and Jack Hodgins and the late Meril Mitchell Sr. He also is survived by his brother, Christopher Bayer; maternal grandmother, Julie Davidson; wife; four daughters, Christina, Crystal, Chasity and Kayla; a son, Meril III; three granddaughters, Jasmine, Amelia and Emma; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Service will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, at Home Oaks Cemetery, located on Deep Lake Road just north of Grass Lake Road, in Antioch Township.
