BALDWIN -- Ceola Lewis was born in Chatfield, Ark. on Oct. 24, 1927, to Jessie and Ever (Toney) Brooks. She has gone to be with the Lord on April 8, 2018.
Ceola confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined the First Baptist Church of Baldwin in 1947, under Pastor C.W. Winfield. She was a homemaker and had numerous jobs. Ceola married Eugen Lewis, Dec. 25, 1949. To that union was born Herman (Jeanette) Brooks, Leon Lewis, Leroy (Debra) Lewis, Lorenzo (Barbara) Lewis, Larry (Barbara) Lewis and Lenora (Lavelle) Jennings.
She leaves to cherish her memory siblings, Alberta Fisher, Ever White, Jessie Brooks Jr., Ponola Hill, John (Silvia) Brooks, Roy (Donna) Brooks, Thelma (Judson) Slappey, Artie Brooks, Lovertee Brooks, John L. Brooks, Alvester Brooks and Veraline Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and friends.
