Louis Charles Peterson

IRONS -- Louis Charles Peterson, 76, of Irons, went to be with his Lord on Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital, in Manistee, with his family by his side.

He was born Oct. 21, 1941, in Muskegon, the son of Louis and Charlotte (Keith) Peterson.

Louis worked at General Motors in Defiance, Ohio, for 14 years. In 1976, he and his wife moved to Irons, to take the helm of the family business, Peterson's Well Drilling, a water well drilling company founded by Louis' father in the early 1950s. Louis carried on the tradition of honest and reliable service that began with his father and is carried on by his son, Richard, today.

Louis was a member of Faith Fellowship Church in Irons. He was a successful stock car racer, and he also loved to hunt, fish and enjoy the outdoors. Most of all, Louis loved to spend time with his family.

On June 25, 1960, in Wellston, Louis married Patricia Potter, who survives him. He also is survived by his children, Richard (Elizabeth) Peterson, of Wellston, Theresa (Dean) Sexton, of Thompsonville, David (Sherrie) Peterson, of New England, N.D., and Tricia (Michael) Polcik, of Wellston; his grandchildren, Selena, Ryan, Krystal, John, Nicholas, Jeffrey, Jeremiah, James, Andrew, Angela, Cathleana, Tanisha and Codie; 16 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Janice Wilson, of Brethren, Louise (Carl) Holder, of Traverse City, Susan Wilcox, of Central Point, Ore., and Peter Peterson, of Irons; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Scott Peterson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2018, at Faith Fellowship Church, in Irons, with Dr. Duane Costello officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery in Irons. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, at the Terwilliger Funeral Home in Kaleva.
