James E. Heinz, age 74, of Yorkville, IL, passed away on September 25, 2015, at his home in Yorkville, IL. He was born on March, 24, 1941, in Aurora, IL, the son of George and Mary (Zelinka) Heinz.

James was united in marriage on April 18, 1964, to the former Sheryl Hoepner and they spent the next 51 happy years of their lives together. He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marines Corps. James was employed for nineteen years as the Bristol Township Road Commissioner. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church in Montgomery, IL. Mr. Heinz was a member of both the Yorkville American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge. James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Sheryl Heinz of Yorkville, IL; his children, Jeanann (Bob) Werges of Yorkville, IL and Jeffrey (Shanshan) Heinz of Homer Glenn, IL; his three grandchildren, Jonathan (Alex) Grote of Bristol, IL, Bobby Werges of Yorkville, IL, and Blake Werges of Yorkville, IL; his great-grandson, Jonny Grote; three brothers, George (Verdell) Heinz of Aurora, IL, Peter (Sally) Heinz of Montgomery, IL, and Fred (Margaret) Heinz of Aurora, IL, his sister-in-law, Sandy Heinz of Montgomery, IL; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Heinz; and his brother, Donald Heinz.

A Funeral Service with Military Honors was held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1617 N. Bridge St., Yorkville, IL. Friends visited from 4:00 p.m. until the Hour of Service on Monday, September 28, 2015, at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
