A funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 27, at 10 a.m. at United Methodist Church in Syracuse, Kansas for Hazel Marie Grinstead. Reverend John Wright was the celebrant. Hazel will be interred at Syracuse Cemetary.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 26, from 5-8 p. m. at Garnad Funeral home in Lakin Kansas.
Hazel Marie Grinstead passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at the Seasons of Life Living Center in Syracuse. She was born December 24, 1917 at Arkansas City, Kansas to Joseph Perry & Anna Mae (Munn) Heckart.
Hazel married Harold Riley Grinstead on June 1, 1936 at Pueblo, Colorado.
He died on April 5, 2009.
Hazel moved with her family to Fowler, Colorado when she was 3 years old and attended a country school north of there. She moved to Hamilton County in 1944 and worked as a waitress, grocery clerk and in the office of Syracuse Sales Commission for 50 years, retiring in 2001. When she was 80 she learned to use the computer to keep working at the sale barn. She enjoyed traveling and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, 3 Brothers, 3 Sisters, 2 Grandsons- William Neil Grinstead & Lester Comer & Son-In-Law Calvin L. Comer.
She is survived by four sons, Harold Richard & Shirley Grinstead of Florence Kansas, Billy Joe and Juanita Grinstead of Syracuse, Kansas, Arthur Earl "Ike" & Ruth Grin stead of Liberal Kansas and Terry Lee & Cindy Grinstead of Silt Colorado.

You can tell us how grateful you are for a good mom who did so much for you, but what she gave you that we all desire are good genes. Moses wrote at Ps.90:10 that 70 or 80 years are a blessing. Anything exceeding these are added blessings and longevity. You have my condolences. Ps.83:18
