Jim Kathman passed away June 25, 2015 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 50 years old.
Jim was born in Garden City, Kansas and adopted by Richard and Emily (Henning) Kathman.
He lived in Lamar from 1976-1980 where he attended grade and junior high school; he then moved to Kansas.
Jim worked in the oilfields throughout Kansas in both the fields and in sales.
In his free time Jim enjoyed building cars and electronics, stereos and computers. He was very mechanical and could wire anything.
Jim was preceded in death by his father Richard.
He was the father of April and Misti and a father figure to Dean, Corly and Alexa; he is also survived by his grandchildren Zayda Kathman, Kasmira White and Onyx White; his mother Emily Ward; his siblings Jane Berg, Joe Kathman and wife Debbie, Sue Kathman, Rick Kathman and wife Carmen, and David Ward and wife Tina; his lifelong friends Martin Jara and Brent Smith; and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday July 1, 2015 at Livingston Funeral Home in Kingman, KS. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday July 2, 2015 at St. Peter Cemetery in Willowdale, KS.

My condolence's to the family & in our prayers. Jim, Brent & I grew up together in Lamar. We did everything together till we got older & moved away. Jim moved to kansas, Brent moved away & I moved to northern Colorado. We had not seen each other in years, but always kept in touch. Got a phone call one day from Jim & he said he was moving back to Coloado. I said where Lamar & he said no northern Colorado. It so happen we lived about 30 min.away from each other. Jim you will be missed, but not forgotten & you will always be my brother !!!
