Services were held for long-time Bristol resident, Louis "Babe" Benjamin Carr on Mon. April 28, 2014 at the Bristol Methodist Church with graveside services following at the Bristol Sunnyslope Cemetery. Ian Blacker officiated.
Babe Carr was born on Feb. 21, 1928 in Cozad, Neb. and passed away April 25, 2014 at his home in Bristol at the age of 86.
He was joined in marriage to Carolyn Marples on June 29, 1957 and to this union had three children, daughters Cindy (Glenn) Otto, Cathy (Daniel) Gonzales and a son, Rodney Carr.
Babe was a self employed mechanic and life-long volunteer on the Bristol Fire Dept.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Rachel Carr, two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Carr of the family home and three children. Also surviving are sisters, Norma Atkinson, Darlene Kirmer and Betty (Bob) Proctor. Babe is also survived by his five granddaughters Shayla (Davey) Rock, Chelsey Wagner, Brandi Otto, Amber Carlile, Shelby Otto, nine great-grandchildren, brother-in-law William (Kay) Marples and a host of other close relatives and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Lamar Area Hospice in care of Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 950, Lamar, CO 81052.
