John E. Cook Obituary
John E. Cook, 86, passed into eternal rest Wed., May 16, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the of North Texas or to Martin United Methodist Church of Bedford.
John was born Aug. 22, 1926, in Lamar, Colo., to Frank and Mary Cook. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at age 17 and served in the South Pacific during World War II. John's strong work ethic was reflected in his 29 years of service to Continental Airlines. He retired after completing his career with FedEx. As an avid golfer John never missed an opportunity for a tee-off with his friends. He was a longtime member of Martin United Methodist Church of Bedford.
John was preceded in passing by his parents; his son, Greg Cook; and his brothers, Gerald and Calvin Cook.
He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years, Joy Cook; daughters, Kelly Cook and Karen Austin and her husband, Greg; and grandchildren, Tyler, Travis, Megan and Troy.
