Mass of Christian burial for Cecelia Kathryn Sherwood will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., March 29 at St. Francis De Sales/Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lamar, Colo.
Father Charles Sena will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holly Cemetery. Rosary will be held prior to mass at 9 a.m. on Sat., March 29 also at the church. For viewing information, please contact Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel.
Cecelia Kathryn Sherwood, 84, a lifetime Prowers County resident, passed away on March 24, 2014 at Parkview Medical Center in Pueblo, Colo. after a short illness.
Cecelia was born January 10, 1930 to Joseph and Amelia Dorenkamp on the family ranch south of Holly, Colo.
Cecelia is survived by seven children, Jim and wife, Kay Sherwood of Holly, Kathryn Miller of Pueblo, Fred and wife, Sandy Sherwood of Holly, Carol Sherwood of Pueblo, Marlene Sherwood (Scotty McClain) of Pueblo, Mike and wife, Cathy Sherwood of Lamar, and Patrick and wife, Cherl Sherwood of Pueblo; brothers, Fred and wife, Norma Dorenkamp of Granada and Norman and wife, Jeanne Dorenkamp of Holly; and one sister, Agnes and husband, Jim Harper of Holly.
Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean, in 2009; her parents; brothers, Bernard and Donald Dorenkamp; and one sister, Josephine Parker.
