Helen Lavonn Land, wife of Thomas F. Land (deceased), resident of Colorado Springs, Colo., and a longtime resident of Los Alamos, N.M., passed away peacefully on June 10, 2013. She was born on Sept. 14, 1928, in Daisetta, Texas, and came to Los Alamos, N.M. in 1947. She worked for the Los Alamos National Laboratory in the accounting and travel departments, and then retired to be a homemaker. She loved reading, genealogy, old movies, opera, square dancing, traveling, history, cooking and being with her family.
Helen is survived by her sister Betty Mohler; her sister Taylor Henning; her daughter Janet Taylor and husband Kit; her daughter Terri Cheyney; her daughter Kay Dineagar and husband Robert; and her stepson Dale Land. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Helen was a loving and caring person. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
