Allan L. Conner

ALLAN L. CONNER, 78, a resident of Los Alamos, died on Thurs., Jan. 31, 2013 after a long battle against leukemia. He was born in Canton, Ill., April 6, 1934 to Claude and Veda (Morgan) Conner, both deceased.
After graduating from C.H.S. in 1952, he joined the United States Marine Corps. during the Korean War and was discharged in 1956. He later attended Western Ill. University in Macomb and graduated in 1960. The family then moved to Los Alamos, where he joined the staff of Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory and spent the next 31 years in a variety of responsible positions, including a three-year assignment to Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. He retired in 1991, and spent time consulting for Los Alamos National Laboratory, and Washington Institute in Washington, DC.
He followed by spending quality time with his family and friends and pursuing his hobbies, traveling, fishing, wood carving, reading and home improvements. He was also a member of three Senior Citizen organization boards in Los Alamos. Mr. Conner is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue (Meyers) Conner; son Claude Conner of Los Alamos; daughters Cheryl Conner and Chris Morton of Albuquerque; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. At his request, there will be no services. Remains will be buried in Guaje Pines Cemetery in Los Alamos. If you choose to make a memorial donation in Allan's name, please do so to: Hospice House; P.
