John F. Taylor passed away Nov. 15 after a sudden illness. John was born in Flemington, Mo. on Oct. 27, 1919. After high school graduation, he lived in California. On Oct. 22, 1941, John was inducted into the U.S. Army, in which he served until Oct. 27, 1945.
John married Louise Smith on Sept. 15, 1942. The couple celebrated their 70th anniversary this year.
John was predeceased by his father Fleming A. Taylor, mother Rachel Taylor, and sisters Mary Stephens and Alice Aspey. John is survived by his wife Louise; daughters Carolyn (Robert) Ridout and Norma Taylor; son John L. Taylor; grandsons Robert Lee Ridout and Taylor Gilaspie; granddaughter Amanda (Brian) Moore; great-granddaguther Ava Moore; great-grandson Hank Moore; sister Ida Andrews; nephews Donald Aspey, Ronald Aspey, Michael Andrews, and Paul Andrews; brother-in-law and close friend Will J. (Ann) Stats; and Louise's numerous nephews and nieces.
Graveside services were conducted by Rivera Family Funeral Home of Espanola on Nov. 20 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
