June Pirtle, long time Los Alamos resident, left this earth to begin a new journey on January 14, 2018.
June and her husband, John moved to Los Alamos from East Texas in 1954. She was a grocery store checker for a short time prior to getting hired at the Los Alamos National Laboratory as a Data Administrator. She worked for the Lab until her retirement in the early 90's.
June was a kind, soft-spoken soul who loved the Lord, her family and friends, and her church. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
June enjoyed spending time with John at their cabin in Eagle Nest, NM. She also enjoyed playing games and was tough to beat in a game of Boggle.
June spent the last six years as a resident of Aspen Ridge Lodge Assisted Living facility. She loved the kind and compassionate caretakers and staff and friends she had there. She also cherished the amazing nurses, staff and volunteers from the Los Alamos Visiting Nurses that helped with her care over the last year.
She is survived by her daughter Monica and husband Matthew Davis of Amarillo, TX; daughter Robin and husband Dan Oliver of Los Alamos, NM; grandson Brian Davis of Perryton, TX; granddaughter Sarah and husband Kyle Pate of Lewisville, TX; grandson Dustin and wife Ashli Cubitt of Amarillo, TX; and Krista Cubitt of Los Alamos, NM. June had four great-grandchildren, Kalen, Skye, Kyson and Emma and numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved. This included niece, Rheta Moazzami of Los Alamos whose loving care and companionship was a special gift.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Aspen Ridge Employee Holiday fund or the Los Alamos Visiting Nurses.
