Marvin Langham, originally from Palestine, Texas returned to the loving arms of the Lord on December 8th, 2012.
Marvin was first married to Leila Gillespie and worked as a salesman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Brownfield, Texas, prior to coming to Los Alamos in 1950.
Mr. Langham was unable to serve in World War II due to having flat feet. He worked full time for the defense program working in tool and dye each day before proceeding to Nissan's shoe store for his second job.
The Langham's have two sons, Terry and Paschal Taylor.
He worked as the manager of Los Alamos' first department store, Spear's and then managed Hall's Shoe Store, the first shoe store.
He lost his first wife in 1957 and later married a dear friend, Maurine Pilcher and moved to Las Cruces.
Maurine's children are Ben Pilcher and daughter Jeanette Praetorius.
He worked at Bell's Department store until his retirement.
The Langhams returned to, El Castillo in Santa Fe, where they lived for many years. Marvin enjoyed fishing with friends, near Cowles, New Mexico.
Mr. Langham's great passion was cowboy, John Wayne. He was also an avid reader, striking up a friendship with his favorite author, Michael McGarrity, of Santa Fe, for 5 years.
At the end of January, Marvin would have been 105. His remains have been entrusted to McGee funeral home, of Santa Fe.
He leaves behind Marvin Terry Langham and his wife Clarice Cox of Los Alamos, son Paschal Taylor Langham and wife Christa of Offenbach, Germany, grandchildren Ian Douglas Langham and wife Melissa of Colorado and Sean Robert Langham and wife Gina, of Aubry, Texas, one great grand daughter, Victoria.
A celebration of his life will take place on February 16th at the El Castillo Medical Center.
