Virginia F. "Frankie" Turner, 79, died at her home on Nov. 22, 2012.

Virginia Franc Turner was born Virginia Franc Walker in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Dec. 17, 1932 to Paul Wilson Walker and Emma Virginia Mattys Walker who preceded her in death. Virginia is survived by her husband Robert W. "Bob" Turner; her son William Paul Raies, his wife Jan and their sons William Peter Raies, Micah Paul Raies, and Joshua Lian Raies all of Midland, Texas; and her daughter Lisa Ann Raies Rioux and husband Graham, and their sons and daughter Garrett Amil, Gavin Benjamin, and Liana Rose Rioux, all of Peoria, Ariz.
Virginia moved to Los Alamos in 1955, working at the Los Alamos National Lab for a number of years, retiring in 1988. Virginia was a Christian, having accepted Christ as her Savior in her late teens; a member of the First United Methodist Church of Los Alamos, and, prior to coming to Los Alamos, was active in the "Young Life" Group in association with the Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs where she also sang in the choir and worked in the Christian Education department as a secretary for about two years.
Before leaving the Presbyterian Church, she worked for the El Paso County Commissioner's office for two years, then for the Colorado College for two years, finally working at Ft. Carson and later at ENT Air Base for about one year each.
Virginia then moved to Minnesota for a while before moving to Los Alamos, where for many years enjoyed bowling, golfing, tennis, fishing, camping, and other activities.
Favorite hymns were: "In The Garden", "Amazing Grace", "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "The Old Rugged Cross"
Interment was in the Guaje Pines cemetery.
A memorial service is planned in the future, with Rev. Charles F. McCullough and her son Rev. William Paul "Billy" Raies officiating.
