Michael Joseph Murphy
ALTUS, OKLAHOMA: Michael Joseph Murphy, 64, of Altus, Oklahoma passed away September 22, 2012 at Norman Specialty Select Hospital. Michael was born on June 15, 1948 in Lancaster, Ohio to the late Laurence and Mary (Joyce) Murphy. Michael was a 1967 graduate of Bishop Fenwick High School and he faithfully served his country in the Vietnam War in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from the federal government.
Michael leaves behind his loving family consisting of his children; Timothy Murphy of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Michael Murphy of Lancaster, Kathleen Murphy of Lancaster and Mikele Mackay of Washington ; Brothers and Sister, James (Linda) Murphy, Kevin (Gail) Murphy, Denis (Luppa) Murphy, Patrick (Monica) Murphy and Mary Anne (John) Murphy; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Michael is preceded in death by his parents.
Family will receive friends in Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME where a vigil will be held at 3:45 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Mary Church with Father Craig Eilerman as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery where military honors will be observed by the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail.
