Dee Gentry

CARROLL: Veronica Jane "Dee" Gentry, née Davis, aged 72 of Carroll, Ohio, passed away February 22, 2013 at the Pickering House (FairHoPe Hospice), Lancaster, Ohio, in the presence of her beloved family. Born February 17, 1941 in Washington D.C., Dee was the eldest daughter of the late Oscar L. Davis and Dorothy Hoffman Davis. She is preceded in death by brother, David Davis.

She is survived by husband and best friend of 52 years Robert "Phil" Gentry; children Phillip E.(Mitzi) Gentry of Memphis, Tennessee, John R. Gentry of Philipsburg, Montana and Beth G. (David) Gould of Columbus, Ohio; sisters Susan D. McGraw of Fairbanks, Alaska and Frances Bass of Redondo Beach, California as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Dee also leaves behind six grandchildren: Jamie, Maura and Nicholas Taylor of Columbus; Evan Gentry of Memphis, Tennessee; Tyler and Ezra Gentry and their mother Charlene Bucha- Gentry of Philipsburg, Montana; and great-granddaughter Aeden Taylor.

A 1959 graduate of Narbonne High School in Redondo Beach, California, Dee devoted her life to the love and care of her family. She loved making a home, genealogical research,corresponding with her many email friends, and, most of all, being the moral compass of her family. She will be missed every day. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. A Eulogy will be presented immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests donations in Dee's memory be made to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
