HENDERSON, NV: Donald F. Abel, 68, of Henderson, NV passed away on Saturday April 6, 2013 at the St. Rose Dominican Hospital, Henderson, NV. He was born on May 17, 1944 in Lancaster. Don served in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He was a set packer for Anchor Hocking and retired from Boyd Gaming in Las Vegas, NV. Don had a passion for hunting, guns and was an advocate for the NRA.

Don is survived by his wife Sherry (Denton) Abel; daughters Scherry (Patrick) Dolan of Columbus, Tammy (Jim) Green of Michigan; grandchildren Samantha, Ryan, Sean, Kyle, mother Bertha (Cox) Abel of Lancaster; sisters Kathy (Ronald) Watson and Debera (George) Watson both of Lancaster; father and mother in law Thomas and Donna Denton of Lancaster, sister in law Karen (Dave) Hoover and brother in law Jeff Denton both of Ohio, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Frederick E. Abel.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30AM on Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Sheridan Funeral Home. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military honors. Visitation will be on Friday April 12 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the .
