Howard Stanley Lynch Jr.

LANCASTER: Howard Stanley Lynch Jr., age 73, passed peacefully from this world surrounded by loved ones at Fairfield Medical Center on March 4, 2014, after a 6-year courageous and mighty battle with lung cancer. Born October 10, 1940 to Howard Sr. and Alice Paugh Lynch in Basil, OH, Howard graduated from Lancaster High School in 1958 and proudly played offensive guard on the COL football championship team. A member of the Elk's Club, he participated in many civic organizations. He attended Ohio University and served in the U.S. Army in the Panama Canal Zone. Howard was a manager at Diamond Power and the proprietor of Fairfield Antiques, located on Delmont Road and U.S. Route 22, originally founded by his father Howard Sr. Later as an employee and retiree of Continental Airlines he enjoyed traveling around the world with family and friends. Howard was known for his kind words, witty repartee, and willingness to break out a few goofy dance moves. Those who met Howard during his long fight against cancer were struck by his grace, humor and unwavering positivity.

Howard is survived by wife of 22 years Mary Jo (Bower) McConville Lynch; mother Alice Lynch; daughters Jill Lynch Ph.D. (Mark Yunovich) of Houston, TX, Michele Lynch, M.D. and Cindy (Joe) Colletti of Carroll, OH; son Eric Lynch M.B.A of Los Gatos, CA, and grandchildren Jacob & Sydney Carter; Anthony, Camille, & Nicolas Colletti; Abby and Aidan Lynch. Stepdaughters Jennifer (Corey) Clark and grandchildren Colten, Savannah and puppy Bailey of Lancaster, OH and Julianne (Paul) Sniscak and grandchildren Kiersten, Niki, Stephanie, and Amber of Houston, TX; great grandchildren Jason and Joseph Nelson. Sisters Donna (Jim) Daubenmire and Kay Branstetter; nieces & nephews Gary, Connie, & Debbie Branstetter and Jim, Michael, and Chad Daubenmire; Father-in-law Robert Bower; brothers-in-law Robert Jr. and Edwin (Susan) Bower all of Kittanning, PA, and former wife, Barbara Kendrick Ramsey. Preceded in death by father, Howard Lynch Sr.; mother-in-law Mary Bower; brother-in-law Bill Branstetter; niece Karen Daubenmire.

Howard's friends and family are invited to a celebration of Howard's life at 11:30AM Friday March 7, 2014 at the Fairfield Christian Church. Visitation will be on Friday from 11:00AM to 11:30 AM at the church. Interment was in Floral Hills Memory Garden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Fairfield Medical Center Foundation. The Sheridan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
