Robert (Bob) J. Hoch Sr.
LANCASTER: Robert (Bob) J. Hoch, Sr., 92 of Lancaster passed away Monday, April 22, 2013 (Patricia's Birthday) at Main Street Terrace Nursing Home. He was a retired painting contractor of 50 years for Robert J. Hoch, Inc. He especially enjoyed working in churches. He was born December 24, 1920 in Lancaster, Ohio, to the late Frank and Mary Hoch. He was past President of the Columbus-Franklin Chapter of the Painting & Decorating Contractors of America and past President of the St. Mary Alumni Association. He was an active member of St. Mary's Church and affiliated with Mt. Pleasant Kiwanis Club, Elks Lodge
#570 and Post #11 American Legion. Bob spent 3 ½ years in the U.S. Marine Corps
to the rank of Master Sergeant serving at the Guadalcanal, Bougainville & Guam invasions during WWII
Bob is survived by son: John (Beth) of Lancaster, grandson Johnathon and fiancé Brittany of Columbus, son: Joe (Laura) of Lancaster, granddaughter Casie and great granddaughters Taylor and Mallory of Lancaster, granddaughter Corie and Fiancée Anthony Locke of Georgia, son: Greg (Cathy) of Texas, grandsons Nathan & Adam of Texas and granddaughters Heather (Tom Clark) of New Jersey & Katy of Texas, son: Dwight (Karen) of Kentucky, grandchildren Andy and Alisha of Kentucky, and grandson Shawn (Andrea) and great grandsons Kaleb and Karson of North Carolina, and granddaughter Heidi Hoch of San Francisco, CA, son: Brad of Oregon, and sister-in-law Barbara. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia, son Mark, brothers George (Jessie), Frank (Eva), Father Richard, Charles (Isabelle), Paul (Mary), James and sisters Catherine (Robert) Acton, Mary (Paul) King, Betty (Robert) Clum, Dorothy (Carl) Robb.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 27, 2013 at the St. Mary of the Assumption Church with Father Craig Eilerman, Fr. William DeVille and Fr. James Walter as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be on Friday April 26 from 4-8p.m. at the Sheridan Funeral Home with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Mary's Education Fund or William V. Fisher High School Education Fund. Bob's family would like to thank all the nurses and staff at the Sterling House Care Center, Main Street Terrace Nursing Home and Hospice of Central Ohio for giving him special loving care and endless hours of treatments.
