Wilda Elaine Nauman
LANCASTER: Wilda Elaine Nauman passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at The Pickering House surrounded by family. She was born May 24, 1931 in Pliney, WV to the late Franklin Elza and Ruth Mae Wears.
Wilda was a Master Gardener, animal lover, and a person who could create, repair and renovate just about anything. There were few days in her life she awoke without a project to tackle. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Wilda's positive attitude and the joy she derived from the simple things in life were infectious and no one benefited more than her grandchildren. She was indeed the epitome of "The Fun Grandmother". She worked periodically for more than 40 years for Kenny's Restaurants, a family business owned by her and her husband Richard.
Wilda is survived by her husband of 63 years, Richard C. (Dick) Nauman; daughters, Joey Nauman-Riegel (Mark) and Jan Nauman-Sheppard; grandchildren, Cara (Greg) Campbell- Mounts and their children, Cameron Randall, Gavin and Addy, Joseph N. (Michelle) Campbell and their sons, Chase and Evan, Nicolas A. (Danielle) Sheppard and their son Parker; and Ashley (Michael) Riegel-Murphy and their son Bennett; her brothers, Elza (Chris) Wears and Gene (Sandy) Wears; sister, Wanda (Kenny) Good; special niece, Tammy (Berry) Wears- McCain; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Betty L. Miller; and nephew, Rick Miller.
The family would like to thank the caring staffs at Autumn at the Lake and FairHope Hospice.
Calling hours will be Thursday, August 28th from 4-8PM at Halteman-Fett and Dyer Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held Friday at 10:30AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Fair-Hope Hospice.
