LANCASTER: Harvey L. Tigner, 85, passed away July 22, 2012. Harvey was born June 7, 1927 in Fairfield County to Harvey C. and Alice Tigner. He married Anna E. "Sue" Mathias, Sept. 2, 1944. He was a Army Air Force Veteran of WW II, 1945. On his return home he started working at Anchor Hocking and retired in 1983 as Foreman in the Box Shop. He lived in Lancaster until moving to Pleasantville in 1988. After the death of his wife in 2011 he returned to Lancaster to make his home with his daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Paul Burleigh. Harvey and Sue are survived by 5 daughters, Linda Fosnaugh of Pickerington, Mary Ann and Steve Hays of South Carolina, Connie and Gary Dennis of Sugar Grove, Vicki and Paul Burleigh of Lancaster, Pam and Steven Uhl of Lancaster.
Harvey and Sue will always be "Granny and Pa" to Johnathan and Heather Brill, (Katlyn and Stephanie), Sarah and Benjamin Honaker, (Olivia and Zachariah), Christopher and Shelly Uhl, Brad and Rhonda Hays (Arianna), Angie and Jeff Sullins, Shane Dennis (Austin and Naomi), Nathan and Amber Dennis (Conner).
Harvey was preceded in death by; his wife of 66 years, Anna "Sue" Tigner, grandson Brent Eric Watts and brother and sister-in-law Charles and Vera Tigner.
Harvey and Sue are now in heaven but have left behind many wonderful memories for family and friends to share. Dad, as we say "goodbye" we can still hear you saying "Watch your motor".
Funeral service will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home in Lancaster. A good friend to Harvey thru the past year, Pastor James Dexter, will officiate the service.
Burial will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens where the Lancaster Veterans Burial Detail will conduct graveside rites. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
