BILLINGS, MT: Julia Worley Echerd peacefully passed away at her home in Billings, Mont. on May 4, 2012.
She grew up in Ohio, attended Principia College, and graduated from Miami University of Oxford, Ohio with a BA degree in English Literature. She was employed by Trans World Airlines as a Reservation Agent and in the travel department of Nationwide Insurance. She married Robert Stevenson Echerd in 1961 and became a homemaker.
She was proud to be a Daughter of the American Revolution, and a distant relative of American explorer William Clark. She was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist in Boston, Mass. and a member of and Secretary to Harry K. Filler's Students' Association. She was a past member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Columbus and Lancaster, Ohio, and a current member of First Church of Christ, Scientist in Billings.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Robert; her parents Joseph and Aleta Worley; and siblings James, John, and Jerry Worley and Joanne Marble.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Worley; sisters-in-law, Chloe (John) Crawford, and Suzanne Worley; nieces, Julia Marble, Leslie Worley, Sue (Don) Hixon, Betsy Howell, and Sharon Worley; nephews, David (Debi) Worley, Alan (Cher) Marble, Joseph (Sharon) Marble, Richard (Roberta) Marble, David (Sharon) Marble; and many grand-nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to The First Church of Christ, Scientist, 210 Massachusetts Ave., Boston, Mass., 02115 or Longyear Museum, 1125 Boylston Street, Chestnut Hill, Mass., 02467. A private service will he held in lieu of a public service and cremation has taken place under the direction of Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary in Billings, Mont.
