Mary Emrick Obituary
LANCASTER: Mary Elizabeth Emrick, 95, of Lancaster, Ohio passed away Monday, January 12, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center.
She was born June 13, 1919 in Vinton County, the daughter of the late George Dewey and Anna Armenda Foreman Rosser.
She graduated from Franklin University and attended Otterbein University and Ohio University Lancaster Extension. She was a member of Lancaster First United Methodist Church where she was a past member of the Chancel and Bell Choirs. She was an active member of the United Methodist Women having served as President and Circle Leader. She was Past President and Secretary of the Lancaster Music Club, charter member and Past President of Singing Wives of Ministers of the UMC, West Ohio Conference. She served as Youth Leader at Hope UMC, Canal Winchester and Maple Street UMC, Lancaster. With her husband she served New Berlington Friends and Chester Friends Churches in Wilmington, Newark First UMC, Hope UMC, Canal Winchester and Maple Street UMC, Lancaster. Together they were instrumental in the creation and administration of Camp Otterbein, Logan, OH.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, The Reverend Wendell Woodrow Emrick; and an infant daughter.
She is survived by daughters, Patricia Emrick (Jefferson) Kennedy of Fort Wayne, IN and Susan Kay (David) Cattran of Lancaster; son, Terry Alan (Janie) Emrick of Findlay, OH; six grandchildren, Kristen Tuner, Ross and Bennett Emrick, Chad, Nathan (Mary) and Brian McGee; and great granddaughter, Ashley McGee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday at First United Methodist Church, Wheeling and High Streets, Lancaster, with Rev. Robert McDowell and Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Canal Winchester. Friends may call from 5-8 pm Thursday at the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to First UMC-Music Program and FairHoPe Hospice.

Pat, Susan, Terry and families--our deepest condolences to you all. Your mom was a real treasure. There are so many fond memories of the significant influence she and your dad had on my life growing up at Hope UMC. And of course how blessed Rick and I were to have your mom and dad in attendance at our wedding as your dad performed our ceremony as he had for my parents many years before. We are traveling out of state and are not able to be with you but please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.
