Judith Ann Durant

LOGAN: Judith Ann Durant went home to be with her heavenly Father on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Fairfield Medical Center Palliative Care Unit.

Judy was a devoted wife, and loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who enjoyed gardening and was well known for the daffodils that cover her hillside every spring. She graduated from Logan High School in 1943 and was first employed by Pratt-Hawkinson Retread and later worked for Ernie's Tire Shop. Judy later worked at the Hocking County Health Department, from where she retired in 1985. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for over fifty years.

Judy was born May 7, 1925 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late Hansford and Regina Bowles.

She was preceded in death by her son, Fred B. Durant Jr.; sisters, Kathleen Burns, Kitty Miller, Leola McQuilkin; and a baby brother, John Bowles.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Fred B. Durant; daughter, Debbie (Steve) Luchtenburg; daughter-in-law, Pam Durant; grandchildren, Doug Durant, Heather (Billy) Moe, Joe Luchtenberg and Bekah (John) Acton; seven grandchildren; sisters, Betty Clark, and Janis (Jerry) Crothers; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 11:00am Thursday April 3, 2014 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home in Logan with Rev. Rodney Rogers officiating. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Logan.
