ATLANTA, GA: Phyllis Lorene Brown, July 29, 1942 to March 28, 2014, passed away in Atlanta, GA. after a short illness. She was born in Lenore, W.Va. to Martie Sheppard Bryant and Everett Akers. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Joe A. Brown.
Surviving daughters are: Marla Brown of Lancaster, Stephanie Parrish of Parrottsville, TN., April (Bob) Scott of Lancaster and Joey Brown of Atlanta, GA; surviving grandchildren are: Ryan (Kristen) Knight of Canal Winchester, Christa Kornmiller of Nelsonville, Derrick Bartholomew of Lancaster, Lauren Scott of Lancaster, Branson Wagoner of Amesville and Gabriela Palomeque Brown (who was her world) of Atlanta, GA; surviving brother is John (Linda) Bryant of Lenore, W.VA; and sister-in-law Florence Bryant, also of Lenore, W.VA; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She retired from The Olde Dutch Restaurant as a server after many years and loved every minute of it. She took great pride in treating her customers like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father Harmon Bryant, step-mother Helen Akers; brothers: Jack and Joe Boone and Milton Bryant; sister Helen Brown; and granddaughter LaCada Michelle Wagoner; she was also preceded in death by a very special aunt, Faye Sheppard second mother to her.
The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 6-8 pm at Roberts Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio. The funeral will take place on Thursday at 1:00 pm, with visitation one hour prior to the service also at Roberts Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Knollwood Cemetary. Pastor Rodger Parrish will officiate. Pall bearers will be: Fred Akers, Bob Scott, Ryan Knight, Mitchell Bryant, Branson Wagoner, and Ben Jack and Joe Brown.
