Homer L. Morris

ROCKBRIDGE: Homer L. Morris, 89, of Rockbridge, Ohio passed away April 4, 2014 at Homestead Center Lancaster, Ohio.

Homer was born October 3, 1924 in Hocking County, Ohio to Chester and Millie Morris. He was a 1942 graduate of Gibisonville High School; member of the Mt Pisgah United Methodist Church; member of the West Ohio Conference of United Methodist Churches; a pastor for 22 years, serving at Pine Grove, Gibisonville, Wesley Chapel, New Zion, Mt. Pisgah, South Bloomingville and Bethel; retired in 1989 from the Shipping Department at Selkirk Metalbestos in Logan.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, D. Jean Morris, whom he married November 20, 1949; son, Duane (Velvet) Morris of Rockbridge; daughter, Miriam (Terry) Kraft of Lancaster; grandchildren, Jonathan Kraft, Cindy Kraft, Jason Morris, and Eric Morris; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Wharton and Evan Morris; sisters, Jennie Jinks of Washington CH, Clara (Homer) Chandler of California, and Lula Belle (Dale) Daubenmire of Laurelville.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Leonard Leo Morris and Melvin Morris.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM Monday April 7, 2014 at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home Logan, Ohio with Rev. John Williams officiating. Burial will be Mt Pisgah Cemetery in Rockbridge, Ohio. Calling hours will be observed Sunday April 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
