Floyd F. Baird

LANCASTER: Floyd F. Baird, 92, passed away Wednesday, July 02, 2014 at the Fairfield Medical Center. He was born on August 10, 1921 to the late Albert F. and Gladys Zeimer Baird. Floyd served in the United States Army during WWII. He was a member of Rushville Church of Christ in Christian Union.

Floyd is survived by wife of 63 years, Betty Jane (Hanna) Baird; son, Floyd L. "Stretch" (Marlene) Baird; grandchildren, Cathy (Richard) Dardis, John (Holly) Robitzer, Dessa Tuthill, William O. (Judy) Rhoades, Crystal Baird, and Katie Baird; great grandchildren, Austin Robitzer, John Patrick Fisher, Maryjane Fisher, Jesse Rhoades, Jerrod Meece, and Emily Meece; niece, Irene (Mike) Hines; nephew, Jim Deeds; several other nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Floyd was preceded in death by his daughters, Ruth Ann Robitzer and Mary T. Rhoades; granddaughter, Lisa Fisher; brothers, Earl and Warren Baird; sister, Ida Mae Deeds.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 8 at 10:30 AM at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME with Pastor David Uhl officiating. Burial to follow at Carroll Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the Lancaster Ohio Veterans Burial Detail. Family and friends may visit on Monday, July 7 from 10-12 PM & 2-4 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rushville Church of Christ in Christian Union in memory of Floyd.
