LANCASTER: Andrew Charles Sammler, age 47, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 while hiking at the Grand Canyon, Arizona. He grew up in Lancaster, loved the outdoors, was an Eagle Scout from Troop 141, graduated from William V. Fisher Catholic High School, and attended O.S.U. and O.U.L., a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, and worked as an electrician for Cyril Scott Company. The most important thing the world to him was his children, Lillia and Corbin.
In addition to his children, Andrew is survived by his parents, Charles and Marie Sammler; brothers and sisters, Cathleen Sammler, Edward (Pamela) Sammler, Kenneth (Sue) Sammler, Elizabeth (Alan) Doan, and Theresa (Ethan) Fish; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles; and cousins; and Robert Upp family.
Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Fr. Craig Eilerman as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM at SHERIDAN FUNERAL HOME with a vigil service conducted at 7:30 PM.
