Jacob Ellsworth Schilling

LANCASTER: Jacob Ellsworth Schilling, 83, of Lancaster, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in the Fairfield Medical Center.
He was born on July 11, 1928 in Givens, OH a son of the late John and Flossie (Crabtree) Schilling. He was a member of Maple Street United Methodist Church. Jacob was a former member of Shalom United Methodist Church where he held many offices in the Church. Jacob was also a member of Charlie's Chippers and retired from Nationwide Insurance in 1987.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Spires) Schilling of Lancaster; sons, Dennis (Sandra) Schilling of Crestwood, KY and Steven (Pamela) Schilling of Lancaster; a daughter, Jane (John) Morrison of Lancaster; brother, Donald (Maxine) Schilling of Gallipolis; sister, Doris Hartsook of Columbus; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; four step great great grandchildren; and three nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gary Schilling.
Friends may call Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Funeral Home with Reverend Greg Swann and Reverend Desiree Carter co-officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Maple Street United Methodist Church in his memory.
