Robert F. McGarvey
CANAL WINCHESTER: Robert F. McGarvey, 61, of Canal Winchester, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 12, 2012.
Born to the late Franklin and Frances McGarvey of Columbus, Robert was a graduate of Central High School and proudly served in the Air Force before going on to work as a Service Technician for SDG Security. Robert was an avid gardener and woodworker who valued his family above all else.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Wretha; daughters, Kathy and Bernice McGarvey; son, Benny Benadum; sister, Linda (Norman) Albrecht, of Grove City; brother James Vest; sisters-in-law, Rita Smith, of Lancaster and Glenna (Randy) Benson, of Thornville; brothers-in-law, Curt (Lisa) Welch of Carroll and Roger (Laura) Welch, of Lithopolis; best friend, Steve (Margie) McCullum, of Canal Winchester; beloved grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Patty Hall and her son; daughter, Sherry Mills; mother and father-in-law, Robert and Hilda Green; father-in-law, Glenn Welch; and best friend, Robert McCullum.
Friends may visit from 4-8p.m. on Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30a.m. on Saturday. Interment at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens.
