Richard Figgins Obituary
LANCASTER: In loving memory of Richard "Dick" Figgins, born July 3, 1935 in Stoutsville who was taken from us far too soon on March 18, 2016. Dick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Myrna (Kennedy) Figgins; two children, Kraig (Marcia) Figgins and Kristi Motsch; his brother, Ed (Jan) Figgins; and his three grandchildren, Madison, Molly and Klayton.
Preceeded in death by his parents, Ray and Alice (Stein) Figgins and his brother Don.
Dick dedicated decades of his life to working as a Master Machinist at Anchor Hocking. He also served in the United States Army, though many would not know this due to his humble nature. Upon his retirement, Dick provided family and friends with his gift of furniture making. He also contributed his pieces to the Georgian Museum and St. Peters Lutheran Church. His pieces will serve as a constant reminder of Dick's talents, humbleness and his thoughtfulness for others. Among his passions for building, Dick could always be found in his garden. His love for gardening was shared by his wife, Myrna, and the two could often be found out in their property, enjoying the fruits of their labor.
Dick will be sorely missed, but his talents and fond memories shared with him will long survive. A memorial service will be held in Dick's honor on Saturday, March 26th at 2 pm at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Lancaster, OH. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 105 E. Mulberry Street, Lancaster, Ohio 43130
