Herbert Kyle Jr., 78, of Hodgenville, passed away March 16, 2013, at his residence in Hodgenville.
He was a lifetime member of Rolling Fork Christian Church. He retired with 31 years of service at General Electric. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born June 24, 1934, in Louisville, to the late Herbert Kyle Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Noe.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Mary Jo Catlett Kyle; a daughter, Carol Sue Kyle; a son, Robert Allen Kyle; and a brother, William Lesley Kyle.
Survivors include his wife of four years, Ida Eleanor Pierce Kyle of Hodgenville; three daughters, Barbara Ann (Roger) Hogge of Munfordville, Gladys Marie (David) Stieben of Elizabethtown and Betty Jo (David) Kummer of Shepherdsville; three stepsons, Walter Pierce of Westport, James Pierce of Hodgenville and Roger (Robin) Pierce of Big Clifty; three stepdaughters, Carolyn (James) Shawler of Elizabethtown, Karen (Maurice) Gaillard of Radcliff and Brenda Flack of Elizabethtown; brother, Claude Nelson Kyle of Arlington, Texas; 17 grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyon Station with the Rev. Tim Underhill officiating. Burial follows in Mount Eden Cemetery in Shepherdsville.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Rust-Wright Funeral Home, 612 N. Lincoln Blvd., Hodgenville, and continues from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rolling Fork Christian Church in Lyons Station.
Rust-Wright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
