Howard L. Benningfield, 77, of Louisville, formerly of Magnolia, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville.
He was retired from Vermont American and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Louisville.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Guy and Dora Elkins Benningfield; and two brothers, Edward Benningfield and Eugene Benningfield.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Gentry Benningfield; four sons, Phillip (Bonita) Benningfield of Taylorsville, Kevin Benningfield of Louisville, Tommy Benningfield of Upton and Patrick (Gretchen) Benningfield of LaGrange; a sister, Mildred (Murle) Elliott of Hodgenville; eight grandchildren, Jason, Joshua, Crystal, Maria, Lillian, Patrick, Grace and Benjamin and two great-granddaughters, Kellie and Trinity.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville with Bro. Don James and Bro. Jack Roddy officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in White City.
Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday and after 9 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
