Albert "Shorty" Peace

Albert "Shorty" Peace, 91, of Magnolia, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014, at his residence.
He was a member and deacon at Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church, retired from Famco American Air Filters in Louisville after 24 years of service, a lifetime farmer, and an Army World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, William "Billy" Albert Peace; his parents, Winston and Carrie Viola Robinson Peace; two sisters, Fannie Wheeler and Lura Mae Pottinger; and three brothers, Simon Leigh Peace, Calvin Coolidge Peace, and Eugene Peace.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Peace; a daughter, Sandy (Phillip) Johnson of Mount Washington; two sons, Rodney (Willie Ann) Peace of Magnolia and Rev. Dennis (Linda) Peace of Paris; a sister, Viola Caven of Harrodsburg; a brother, Gerald (Minnie Mae) Peace of Buffalo; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday, April 24, 2014, at Dixon-Rogers Funeral Home in Magnolia with the Rev. Gerald Gardner and Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Visitation will is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, and after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
