Herbert Hoover Priddy, 83, of Upton, passed away Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at his daughter's home in Elizabethtown.
He owned and operated Hoover's Garage in Upton. He was a past member of the Upton Town Board and a member of Upton United Methodist Church, where he served as a member of the administrative board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christene Priddy; his parents, Theodore and Alma Jaggers Priddy; a daughter, Loretta Priddy; a brother, James Priddy; and a son-in-law, David Norris.
He is survived by two sons, Leon (Evie) Priddy of Upton and Charlie (Tammy) Priddy of Bardstown, two daughters, Barbara Norris of Elizabethtown and Mary (Roger) Harpool, of Elizabethtown; six sisters, Opal Miller of Louisville, Ada Priddy of Louisville, Frances Grawemeyer of Louisville; Catherine O'Laughlin of Louisville, Marie Haynes of Louisville, Dot (Dorothy) Lawson of Louisville; three brothers Donnie Priddy of Glasgow, Harold Priddy of Elizabethtown and Russell Priddy of Louisville; 10 grandchildren, April, Stacy, Tommy, Dixie, Brian, Maggie, Brandye, Evan, Megan and Justin; and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Upton United Methodist Church. Burial will be at the Upton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2 until 8 p.m. Monday at Manakee Funeral Home in Upton and from noon until 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
